The Area
Drws Nesa is ideally located for visiting the Welsh borders - the Brecon Beacons are half an hour away, the Forest of Dean in England, is half an hour away, and the cities of Bristol and Cardiff are within three quarters of an hour's drive.
The countryside is ideal for walkers, with many local trails around Usk, as well as longer walks such as Offa’s Dyke and the Usk Valley Walk. There is also pony trekking in the Brecon Beacons and we’re not far from several national cycle routes.
Fishing is available on the Usk, there’s a gliding field near by, and there are numerous golf courses - the nearest being in Raglan, 3 miles away, and the prestigious Celtic Manor being a 15min drive.
Local Places of Interest
Both Usk and Raglan have castles which are well worth visiting, Abergavenny, a bustling market town known as the gateway to Wales, has a good market on Tuesdays.
Visit Monmouth with its heritage and history. Visit Caerleon with its Roman amphitheatre and museum. There’s a Farmers Market in Usk.
